The Ju Dachi Martial Arts Association was launched in 2007 and its goal is to promote and teach the true meaning and traditions of Martial Arts in a non-political manner in the UK, by providing a service based on equal opportunites for all.
The Association’s aim is to encourage individuals to train to a high, proficient standard in Martial Arts while always striving to maintain a safe and competent practice.
Sensei Jonathan Bolt
Sensei Jonathan Bolt has a deep-seated love for Karate and received his 1st Dan Black Belt at the age of just 14. Jonathan is currently a 3rd Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate. He has won the Top Instructor Award for 3 years running; in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
He has also featured in Combat Magazine in an interview on his passion for teaching. Sensei Bolt is first-aid trained and has also worked as a lifeguard.
Sensei Patricia Torralba
Sensei Patricia Torralba trained Shito Ryu Karate for 7 years, in Madrid, Spain with Sensei Luis Alberto Garcia (Federacion Madrileña de Karate).
She moved to London and after a few years break she continued training with Sensei Jonathan Bolt, learning Shotokan Karate. Currently a 1st Dan black belt, she teaches Karate to children and beginners in London.
Sensei Heather Banks
Sensei Heather Banks trained with Sensei Jonathan Bolt since the 1st Association dojo was opened. She is a 1st Dan black belt.
Still training, she also teaches and assists at Karate lessons within Essex. She has been recognised by the Ju Dachi Martial Arts Association as a senior rank.
