The Big Come Back

The last few months have been difficult, for the club with a lot of changes. First Sensei Jon and Sensei Patricia moved to wales. Then Sensei Fabio, one of our part time instructors had an operation, which now we are pleased to hear that Sensei Fabio is doing well, and will be back on his feet shortly. We appreciate that during this transition there has been a few changes on some of the class times. We would like to thank all the parents and students for their understanding, and continued support for the club. We would also like to express our gratitude to Michael, Jan and Anders who without question offered their services to keep the classes running normally as without them this would not have been possible while Sensei Fabio is on the mend.

The Future Is Bright

Exciting changes are happening within our club in England and Wales, very shortly. As the chief instructor it is not only my intention to run a great club but to leave a lasting legacy. The last few weeks have shown that the club is stronger now than it has ever been. With a great community spirit and great people only to willing to step in when needed. This is a historic time for the club and as such it is my responsibility to ensure the club continues to grow and prosper. The new direction in which the club is heading to, will offer many new opportunities for our students, and it is my belief  that it will open new doors to an even brighter future.  – Sensei Jon

Training Is Back On The Menu

I started training in Kobujutsu and Kamashin Ryu Karate Do many years back and I loved every second of it. I attended many courses and training seminars. For me training with Sensei Phil Snewin and Sensei Julian Mead re-ignited my passion for Karate. These days like most people, I find it very hard to make time to continue my own training in Kobujutsu (Okinawan Weapons) and Karate. Yet, this was the very thing that gave great motivation. Since our move to Wales, I have realized that no matter what, it is so important to make time for my own training. Not only to better myself but to enable me to pass on valuable knowledge to our own students. Saying this, any students who would like to also attend to these courses, if suitable to their grading, are more than welcome. Please note that some courses will only be suitable for certain grades. Believe me when I say that I know how hard it can be sometimes to get motivated to attend classes and training (work, weather, homework, friends, and other commitments…) and yet when we do make the time we feel so refreshed and re energized. Then we realize what the benefits of training brings in terms of fitness, making new friends and feeling refreshed. After a Karate session we realize how important it is that we make the time and effort to make that class, and the sacrifices we make in order to attend the session it wasn’t really a sacrifice at all, but we were investing in ourselves. -Sensei Jon
